Episode 35 – Jon Moncrief Interview

You know who I am SICK OF?????? Sean O'Toolbag. He blew the Red Wing game. How many stick to stick passes to the Red Wings, OD? And what about the game loser you gave them against Helm? He's tired. He's flat-footed. GET RID OF THAT DEAD WEIGHT ALREADY! And why in the HELL did Coach Murray play OD in the last minute of a crucial game? FFS! I am so done with that guy.

O'Toolbag is a bit harsh. That said, yes, he was on the ice for that last goal and it wasn't pretty. I think a guy like OD is great for the young guys but should be gone next season. I see him as an assistant coach of some sort.

What a heart breaking loss tonight. How many times have we had over 50 shots with only one goal? Damn!

A bit harsh? Nay. I'm sure he's great for the younger guys but I am just so sick of watching him screw up night after night. Not only is he slow out there, but he's making really bad decisions. It's time to hang 'em up, OD. Like the old game show, "Sean, you are the weakest link. Goodbye."

Martinez is the weakest link. That guy is awful. OD will be with the Kings until a guy like a Davis Drewiske steps it up or Deano signs a good stay-at-home defenseman.

Out of curiosity, who would you replace OD with? Someone from Manchester? A deadline-type deal?

I watched the same game as you did last night. O'Toolbag was passing right to the Wings far too much while Martinez is a NEWBIE (who was only brought up to fill in for injured players) and he looked sharper than OD last night. Oh, and it wasn't Martinez that Helm skated right around and scored the game-winner. I guess now that Jones is back, OD can sit on the bench and give advice to the young D-men from there. It's funny, both my wife and I think OD needs to be put out to pasture. We scream at him more than any other King except for all the fanned-on shots and missed opportunities of last night. As for next season, I hope guys like Muzzin or Tuebert will be sufficiently trained/eligible to join the team. And what happened to Hickey? Is he still hurt?

Jon's nickname was given to him by one of our colleagues, Brian Kennedy. We were talking about Jon being asked to play in goal (if needed) during the upcoming fantasy camp. I don't remember who said it, but someone said something like, "Jon needs a hockey nickname." That's when Brian came up with "Marshmallow." You had to be there, but the delivery and timing, along with the actual nickname, was f-ing awesome. It was the joke of the season so far on our side of the press box. We were all cracking up.

very good insight, but why would we want to reacquire Legace..I know he is proven, but his performance in Carolina demonstates a loss in some steps. As for biron, i think the oilers would have the inside track on that one because of the teams goaltending problems..Either way, I could see Greener granting an interview. He is so approachable and loves the mic and camera.

he brought up a good point about Fro, but if anything, i see his recent play as a way of increasing his trade value.

Can't wait for tomorrow nights game as we go for the kill against Detroit.

Looking forward to this game against Detroit tonight. Hopefully with this surge in attendance recently, the Red will be a minority as opposed to the usual loud majority. Nothing better then sending Detroit fans home in defeat, except for maybe Ducks fans...

The Oilers aren't adding Svensson to the lineup this season, are they? I thought he was playing another year in the SEL. Regardless, you're still screwed on The Bet and you know. Wait until Edmonton starts trading assets for draft picks. When the shot total hits 20, we'll cap it! :)

I will check out the article. Just joking about Eberle and Svensson. Don't think that would be a good move on the Oilers part. But next year, I think they both could be there.

You are going to need all of that circumference space

Joe, with the pace I am on, I might have to wear that hat for the landing my head is going to have when I hit the ground. :-) The next 5 weeks are big. If the Oilers can scratch back to being close to playoff contention, they will make a trade for a true #1 goalie and we will see what happens. If not, then I will need more then the hat.

Wow! Jon is actually visible! Usually, you see nothing in photos or on video where he's supposed to be! :-)
