after the remarks that Coach Murray said about Fro today, i can now almost guarantee he will be traded very soon. TSN will not be surprised if he goes to the Maple Leafs since they are in need of some goal scoring help. If that happens, Deano can rape Burke since they need all kinds of help. plus they now have a good relationship...unless he steps very quickly i expect him to be gone by mid-november if not sooner. especially since he is on the last year of his 5 year contract..YOU brought this one yourself FRO!

Great blog Sam! Frolov is one of those "home grown" players I'd love to see succeed on the Kings, much like Brownie. I have to agree with Keith, as well as that 3rd line has been playing and as fun as they are to watch, a move to the 2nd line for Fro makes sense. Although his role is a little vague now, I think with the newly added pieces to the puzzle this year, it will emerge naturally. It's so rare to keep core players together for a significant amount of time, so I think signing Fro will be a priority as well. It's Fro!

Also, all Russians have "wacky" wardrobe. Did you the Russian prospects at Hockey Fest 09? Interesting attire...

For me, I just think fighting against someone's personality after multiple years in the league just doesn't work. Put him in a role he does well, I think the third line one is a great one for him, and let him do his thing. I would say the same thing with Brian Boyle. He was a skilled center but because he was 6'7" everyone wanted him to be Zdeno Chara. Because he wasn't, he's now a Ranger. Had he been 6'1" he would probably still be a King. Same deal with Frolov. Yeah, he can score 35-40 goals a year but he's not suited to be a linchpin of a team's offense. At least he doesn't seem to be and that's okay.

Nice blog, Sam! I was very pleased to read Puck Daddy's report that the Kings are working on a contract with Frolov. I do believe that he is a vital piece to this team. He's certainly a fan-favorite.

However, the criticisms of Fro are legit. He does disappear. He has the skill to score 40 goals a season but does he have the mental fortitude to do so? While I love him on the third line with Handzus and Simmonds, is that the best place for him? Personally I'd like to flip him and Purcell.

Bottom line, I hope he turns it on this season. When he's on fire, look out!
