  2. I think Dustin Brown makes the biggest impact on Team USA. He hits, he scores, he's an alternate captain and he's had success in previous international play.

Wow, you two were drunk? Could have fooled me. You do a better job tipsy than most hockey site hosts do sober. And Meg… You have great hair! I heard that Meg has a cardboard standee of Drew Doughty in her bedroom and she kisses him goodnight every single night. Now that's loyalty. Oh, and team USA's women's hockey team had a tough time against China…LOL

  4. Megums says:

OK, no more drunk commenting you guys :) Thanks for the shout out, but keep it clean would ya??! I've got a reputation to maintain. And for the record, I DO NOT have a cardboard cut-out of Drew anywhere….

As for who makes the biggest impact on their team….you know I'm gonna answer Drew because….well, because it's Drew. And because he's an amazing passer and Canada is gonna to a much better job getting the puck around the ice than they did in 2006.

I will say this much. I think JMFJ is gonna come up huge for Team USA. He is so into the importance of this whole Olympic experience, I really think he'll bring it on the ice. It won't be enough to beat Canada, but it will be fun to watch.

  5. I cannot confirm or deny the Drew Doughty cardboard cut-out!

I did catch Team Canada women's hockey against Slovakia. 18-0. Ouch!

  6. I have to agree with the sentiments that Johnson will have a huge impact on Team USA. In fact, of all Kings, I think it is he who has the largest impact. He's been great on international ice.

I have no doubt that Doughty will be solid but he's a bottom pairing guy on this team. I do expect at least a couple of clutch plays though.

I definitely plan on grabbing a Doughty Team Canada jersey at some point. The one you wore was pretty sweet!

  7. I won't believe Canada's going to win the Gold until I see it. I really want to see how they play as a team, I know they have some of the most talented individual players in the world but they did in the 2006 Olympics too and they finished 7th. I love that Doughty made the team, that's quite the honor, but I believe he'll be buried under all that other talent (and egos.) I still like Russia or Sweden to win Gold.

I agree with Meg, I think JJ will have a huge tournament. Not only is he ready to show the world what team USA can do, he is ready to represent his country to the fullest. His chartering of the airplane in order to participate in the opening ceremonies was a perfect example. Personally, I think JJ's coming out party can be linked to Deano's step up or shut up quote. I think it served as a wakeup call for Jack. Not only has his plus minus numbers decreased, his offensive talents started to emerge (talents that we always knew were there). I guess Jack realized if he wanted to remain a King, he needed to prove it! Good for Jack because I think he is going to be an awesome defenseman once he gets more comfortable on the blue line. The Olympics is only going to aid in his development.

As for Drew, the Olympic stage will serve as his coming out party to the rest of the NHL. Not only will the fans on the east coast get to see him play, the rest of the NHL will also get to see him play. This will prove to the NHL hierarchy that the Kings are ready to compete once again with the NHL elite and that we now have a future Norris trophy winner in the making. Joe the collector out!!

I could care less about the Kings I gotta root for the Capitals. I'm in DC and it's the only damn team worth a crap in town now. – sorry BUT loved the show. Great job guys. I tripped onto this site from a comment left about a music video I shot with Gary Vaynerchuk. Cool stuff here.

  10. Thanks Mark, appreciate the kind words!

Yeah, the Caps are all you got out there. The Redskins and Wizards suck and the Nats, please. I really wish the Kings played the Caps more, great team to watch.

  11. Interesting, Joe. Team Canada is using Drew as a seventh defenseman. However, they are also using him on the powerplay. It will be interesting to see where he ends up as the tournament progresses.

  12. Thanks a lot, Mark! And nice work the the GaryVee video! Great stuff!

C'mon Meg…we've seen the video of you with the Doughty cut-out. You can admit it. We won't think less of you. :-)

  15. Alex Kinkopf says:

Johnson had a solid game today. The guy's foot movement is unbelievable. His ability to pass the puck while on the move is amazing. However, I don't believe I saw him on any powerplays…correct me if I am wrong. Good to see Doughty tally an assist on Canada's first goal. Atta boy Drew!

  16. chrisnadeau says:

I have to say I think the Big “4″ from the Kings will all have a big impact on their respected Olympic Teams. They are all great young players. Quick probably won't see much time, but having him as one of the back ups is huge!

If you look at just points, then Kopitar will probably win that, but Brown, Johnson, Doughty will all be instrumental in how each team does.

“Suite” show guys and I gotta go check out the Busey clip! :-)

  17. Thanks, Chris! The only way Quick gets injured if he's hit with a puck in the face in practice. But we're thrilled that he can be there and take part in the festivities.

  18. I have to agree, Joe. Jack's play has changed since Lombardi called him out (then again he also said he was proud of him). I hope he becomes the defenseman that we all thought it would be. Hell, I have to rationalize that jersey purchase three seasons ago! :-)

  19. borutksvn says:

Brown or Handzus off course, but if I have to name one, it's Brown and USA team. After what I saw in first two games I believe they/you will win a medal on this Olympics.
